Catherine Collins' work ethos is best articulated by the late Alexander McQueen: “Style is not about the clothes; it’s about the individual.”
Growing up in the small New England town where The Stepford Wives was literally filmed, Catherine dreamed of escaping the WASPY barrage of Lilly Pulitzer dresses and Vineyard Vines ties.
That dream was soon realised.
Following stints in London at RADA and LAMDA, Catherine landed at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Catherine began her career while at NYU; working in the costume department of such notable off-Broadway venues as The Atlantic Theatre Company, The Ensemble Studio Theatre, and The NYC Fringe Festival.
Post grad, Catherine moved to LA, where she quickly found herself assisting the top celebrity stylists in the business: Anita Patrickson, Jeanann Williams, and Micaela Erlanger, amongst others.
Actors are Catherine’s favorite people, and to date she has worked with many of the best: Naomi Watts, Eddie Redmayne, Emily Mortimer, Benedict Cumberbatch and Annabelle Wallis.
Other notable artists worked with include British pop star Olly Murs,
Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn, and comedian Samantha Bee.
Esteemed editorial publications worked with include The Hollywood Reporter, Rhapsody Magazine, Fashionista Magazine, Hunger Magazine, and Just Jared.
Catherine’s worked on high-profile ad jobs with clients such as Merrill Lynch, Vivienne Westwood, The London Hotel, British Airways and Butterfinger.
As head costume designer, Catherine’s film credits include the 2014 feature film The Remake (starring veteran actors Sally Kellerman and June Lockhart), and the 2015 independent film The Sweetening.
The proud owner of two dogs (Elvis and Isla), Catherine currently splits her time between LA and London.
